Seed Storage & Handling Systems
Brett Young Seed, Rycroft This building is 220 feet long, 40 feet wide, is 36 feet high at peak and 10 feet high at the low side wall. It has 12 separate bays for different bays for different seed types and loads from the top via the rolling augers that are in the second picture. It unloads from the front sliding doors by means of a second portable auger that is used when the seed is taken out of storage and brought to the main building for cleaning. The permanent augers are self-propelled by means of an electric motor geared down to a very slow speed and attached to the wheels that are at the building on a track system. The system worked so well that we have since added track and auger systems to the existing 60 foot by 100 foot, 4 bay storage building. We also constructed a new 60 foot by 100 foot 5 bay storage building complete with track and auger.
